Operation of WPPSS Nuclear Project No. 2. Docket No. 50-397, Washington Public Power Supply System

The information in this Final Environmental Statement is the second assessment of the environmental impact associated with the construction and operation of the Washington Public Power Supply System Nuclear Project No. 2, located in the State of Washington, County of Benton, near the City of Richland. The first assessment was the Final Environmental Statement related to the construction issued in December 1972, prior to the issuance of the construction permit. The station construction is now 86 percent complete. Fuel loading is scheduled for September 1983. The present assessment is the result of the NRC staff review of the activities associated with the proposed operation of the station.
