摘要

Mississippi State University's MHD Energy Center has developed several nonintrusive optical diagnostic instrument systems for application to MHD generating facilities. These instrument systems determine gas temperature, velocity, and turbulence, slag temperature and emissivity, particle sizes and distribution, nitrous oxide concentration and other significant parameters. Microprocessors, fiber optics, and other advanced technology are used to provide fast, accurate, and automatic measurements.
