Quality Is Not a Dirty Word.

There is a great deal of emphasis today on management's commitment to quality. Yet with all the hue and cry about this commitment do we find much more happening than just lip service. Are quality professionals aiding and abetting the nonacceptance of quality organizations, resulting in their exclusion from the management. Quality professionals must recognize they cannot divorce themselves from cost and schedule. They must recognize they are not policemen with omnipotent authority. Self-recognition must occur and be acted upon for changes in attitudes and opinions of others to be affected. There are, of course, other factors involved. But in searching for the root cause of the problem, does the evidence of those other factors again point back to the Quality professionals. Quality is not a dirty word.
