摘要

Most of the effort since the preceding report has involved attempts to characterize the permeation of graphite walls by K/Na atomic vapors in the range 700 to 1100 deg C. For this purpose tube furnace experiments, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and simultaneous Knudsen effusion - quadrupole mass spectrometry have been employed. The most quantitative of these procedures is the latter, and the major part of this report concerned with results from that source. A few results which are considered significant are also described, however, from the tube furnace and SEM experiments. 4 figs., 2 tabs. (ERA citation 10:029723)
