摘要

The laser-ion beam photodissociation (LIBP) experiment is performed by intersecting a beam of ions with a high intensity laser beam and mass-analyzing the photofragment ions formed by dissociation of the photo-excited ions produced by absorption of a photon. Since the photo-excited ion is formed by a resonance photon absorption process, this experiment can be used to obtain information on the electronic structure of the ion, to study the occurrence of isomerization/rearrangement reactions of the gas phase ion, and the dynamics of unimolecular dissociation reactions. 6 refs., 2 figs.
