Research work has been performed in four major areas: Laser Raman Spectroscopy and x-ray diffraction studies of pure and impurity stabilized zirconia powders, Laser Raman Spectroscopy and x-ray diffraction studies of pure yttria and lanthana doped yttria powders, preparation of tetragonal impurity doped ternary MgO-TiO-ZrO sub 2 powders by coprecipitation gel techniques, and transmission electron microscope study of defect (twin) structure in CaZrO sub 3 .
