摘要

The continuing growth of computing resources is changing how we think about, formulate, solve, and interpret problems. We attempt in this paper to develop some perspective concerning the spectrum of computational resources now available and anticipated future developments relative to their application in computational electromagnetics (CEM). This task has the two aspects of characterizing the spectrum of computers available, which range from the personal computer (PC) to Cray-class supercomputers and similarly characterizing the computing software needed to model real-world EM problems.
