Development and Test Evaluation of Advanced Lead-Acid Batteries for Load-Leveling Applications

The Exide load-leveling modules have operated reliably to date in all testing at the NBTL, with stable performance exceeding design goals. Much important information on operation and maintenance requirements has been accumulated in over 3 1/2 years of testing to date. It is concluded that these batteries can perform load-leveling applications for electric utilities or utility customers. (ERA citation 11:016266)
