Disseminating Training and Educational Materials on Aging to Management and Labor; Fact Sheets on Aging for Labor

A project undertaken to develop a national mechanism to disseminate a management training program on aging to managers from corporations, universities, and government agencies and to provide educational materials about older workers to unions, is discussed. Five universities across the United States trained in-house trainers from employers in their geographic area; these trainers, in turn, presented the management training program on aging to a group of managers within their organization. As a result 45 different employers presented the program to a total of 589 managers. Evaluation results indicate that managers gained new information and anticipated using their training experience to prevent and resolve age-related problems in their workplace. The project has demonstrated that educational programs exist to prepare management and labor for an aging labor force. Five fact sheets on aging are appended in separate volume.
