Quantum Theory of String in the Four-Dimensional Space-Time

The Lorentz invariant quantum theory of string is constructed in four-dimensional space-time. Unlike the traditional approach whose result was breaking of Lorentz invariance, our method is based on the usage of other variables for description of string configurations. The method of an auxiliary spectral problem for periodic potentials is the main tool in construction of these new variables. 12 refs. (Atomindex citation 18:070608)
