Research progress is reported in the following areas: (1) photoemission from particulate matter suspended in a gaseous atmosphere; (2) model heterogeneous chemical reactions - PAH/atomic oxygen; (3) electrochemistry at solid PAH/aqueous electrolyte interfaces; (4) energy transfer mechanisms in organic crystals; and (5) biological damage by PAH and nitro-PAH compounds: interactions with DNA.
