On May 1, 1985, work was initiated on a contract sponsored by a consortium of industrial and governmental agencies aimed at development of a practical, 3-D coal combustion model. The general objective of this study is to improve and extend a generalized two-dimensional, pulverized coal combustion and gasification code for application to large-scale, practical configurations, and to evaluate and implement the resulting code on an industrial scale. This report summarizes work conducted during the second quarter of the fourth year (fourteenth quarter) of this contract.
