The Machinability Data Center (MDC) is one of a number of Information Analysis Centers sponsored by the Department of Defense. By disseminating machining data and related information, MDC functions to decrease the cost of machining and increase the productivity and reliability of machined products in behalf of the Department of Defense, and other U.S. Government agencies and their contractors. In view of the size and distribution of the machining industry and its impact on productivity, MDC data has considerable influence in the private sector as well. The specific functions of MDC include the collection, evaluation, storage and dissemination of information pertaining to material removal technology. This is the Eleventh Annual Report covering activities of the Machinability Data Center during the period from August 1, 1974 to July 31, 1975.
