Edge Detection in Textures

摘要

Detecting edges is an important first step in the solution of many image analysis tasks. Edges are used primarily to aid in the segmentation of an image into meaningful regions, but are also extensively used to compute relatively local measures of textural variation (which, of course, can subsequently to be used for segmentation purposes). Although there has been a considerable amount of research concerning quantitative models for edge detection, very little work has been devoted to developing models for images described by texture models.
