Pharmacokinetics of Ketoconazole in Patients with Neoplastic Diseases

Twenty-seven patients with advanced malignancies were given 200mg of ketoconazole orally every 60r 12 H. Because these patients are at high risk of fungal infection, the authors conducted a study to evaluate the potential of ketoconazole as a prophylatic and therapeutic antifungal agent. Studies of plasma concentrations and urinary elimination were performed to guide dosage and schedule of administration in these patients.
