Enemy Prisoner of War and Civilian Internee Rates for Northeast Asia and Southwest Asia

This paper documents work by the US Army Soldier Support Center which was performed to review and redefine Enemy Prisoner of War (EPW) and Civilian Internee (CI) rates considering NATO forces in a defensive posture. Methodology includes: (1) EPW - Analogous historical sample selected; and (2) CI - Factor given in FM 101-10-1 applied to target population. Results include: (1) A composite rate for EPWs (includes rear battle captures(; (2) An audit trail of historical rates given in 101-10-1; and (3) Estimated number of CIs.
