摘要

The reactivity of bulk hydrogen in Pd(111) with chemisorbed CN has been studied by temperature programmed desorption. It has been found that adsorbed CN effectively reacts above 420 K with surface H produced by diffusion from the bulk. This reaction completely suppresses C2N2(g) formation and H2(g) formation, producing HCN(g). Thus, CN(a) is an effective barrier material for bulk H Diffusion in Pd. Palladium, Hydrogen, Diffusion, Barrier, Cyanide, Reprints. (jes)
