Pump-power modulation can be an effective means to change the output frequency ofmicrochip lasers. The frequency response of the microchip laser to pump-power modulation is derived in closed form. The theoretical result is in excellent agreement with experiment. Pump-power modulation, microchip lasers, output frequency.
