Industrial trade organisations, such as SHAPA, are a safe haven for those wanting to better their knowledge. Handling and processing powders and other materials in bulk may seem at first sight to involve very mundane science. In the past considerable guesswork may also have been employed. The resulting lack of efficiency and general angst has led to a much more structured approach, with proper research and a huge amount of data spread around industry at large. Getting the correct information is obviously a vital ingredient for success with customers and indeed the continuing future of the supplier. Individual companies will guard their own research for commercial reasons - they can hardly be blamed for that. So where can be found reliable sources of good up to date data?
