Two cases of actinic cheilitis responsive to daylight-activated photodynamic therapy (DA-PDT).

To the Editor, Actinic cheilitis (AC) is a chronic pre-malignant condition resulting from protracted sun exposure affecting the vermilion border of the lower lip. Untreated, the lesions may undergo malignant transformation and evolve into squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). The transformation rate is estimated to be as high as 16.9% and SCC of the lower lip has a metastatic potential four times that of SCC in general (1).
