Fujian Refining & Petrochemical Begins Test Production on Petrochemical Units

Fujian-Fujian Refining & Petrochemical Co. Ltd. at the end of last month began trial operations at its new petrochemical facilities in Guangzhou, China (PCN, 25 May 09, p 1). The $5-billion project included an expansion of an existing refinery to 240,000 b/d from 80,000 b/d, which began test runs in May, an 800,000-t/y ethylene cracker and downstream production of 800,000 t/y of polyethylene, 400,000 t/y of polypropylene and 700,000 t/y of paraxylene.
