RIL Considers Ties with Coal India For Proposed Coal-to-Liquids Unit

New Delhi-Reliance Industries Ltd. (RIL) is holding talks with India's Coal India Ltd. for a possible joint venture to build an 80,000-b/d coal-to-liquids project, industry sources reported last week. RIL has submitted a request to the government for coal mines capable of supplying about 30-million tons annually as raw material for the project. The company is also involved in talks with potential technology providers.
