BASF Enters Agreement to Divest Seal Sands Site to Ineos Nitrites

Teesside-BASF has entered into an agreement to sell its Seal Sands site at Teesside, UK, to Ineos Nitriles for an undisclosed amount. Subject to relevant competition authorities' approval, Ineos will acquire production facilities for acrylonitrile and by-products, as well as all BASF personnel and existing contracts, supply and service agreements of the Seal Sands site. Not included in the sale is a hexamethylenediamine unit, a "key element" in BASF's polyamide 6,6 value chain. Ineos will operate the plant for BASF.
