LyondellBasell Discontinuing Production Of High Melt Strength Polypropylene

Varennes-LyondellBasell Industries said it will exit the high melt strength (HMS) polypropylene (PP) business with the halt of production at its Varennes, Quebec, HMS unit in April 2008. Last year, the company announced its decision to discontinue PP production at Varennes in April, and at Sarnia, Ontario, in mid-2008, shifting the production to other sites (PCN, 22 Oct 07, p 1).
