Calgren's Pixley Ethanol Facility Successfully Begins Production

Pixley—Calgren Renewable Fuels' new ethanol-from-corn production unit has been successfully completed and started up in Pixley, Calif., reported technology provider Lurgi (PCN, 30 Oct 06, p 4). The plant, the only ethanol plant currently operating in California, has the capacity to produce 55-million gal/yr of ethanol and 400,000 t/y of animal feed.
