Dow Idling UK Latex Production

Midland-Dow Chemical last week said its Dow Emulsion Polymers (DEP) business unit will idle production of latex at its King's Lynn site in the UK by 1 Sept. 2008. Dow, in announcing its decision, cited product overcapacity in the marketplace, low capacity utilization at the site and rapidly increasing energy and feedstock costs.
