PESTICIDES FOR INCREASING CROP PRODUCTIVITY AND ENSURING FOOD SECURITY*

I am delighted to participate in the two day National Conference on 'Food and Health Security fora Better Tomorrow: Role of Agrochemicals'. While going through the programme of the conference, I was extremely happy to see the presentations by very eminent scientists and leaders of the industry in the neatly designed sessions on the role of agrochemicals in enhancing crop productivity, ensuring food and environment security and health issues. Some critical areas such as; MRL, Organic food and pesticides, pesticides and general health, so-called safer pesticides etc. have also been addressed. Therefore, I would like to compliment the organizers for bringing together such a valuable information through this conference.
