EFFICACY OF NEW FUNGICIDE, LUSTRE 37.5 SE (FLUSILAZOLE 12.5% + CARBENDAZIM 25%) AGAINST SHEATH BLIGHT OF RICE IN NEW ALLUVIAL ZONE OF WEST BENGAL

A field experiment was conducted using three fungicides with a new one, Lustre 37.5 SE (Flusilazole 12.5% + Carbendazim 25%) in three different doses @ 640,800 and 960 ml/ ha to find out the bio-efficacy against the sheath blight of Rice during Kharifseason in new alluvial zone of West Bengal, India. The other two fungicides used were Cursor 40 EC (Flusilazole) @ 200,250 and 300 m]/ ha and Dhanustin 50 WP (Carbendazim) @ 320, 400 and 480 ml/ha. Bavistin 50 WP (Carbendazim) @ 780 g/ha was included asstandard check. Fungicides were applied as foliar application three times, after the initiation of disease. All the fungicides at different doses reduced the sheath blight disease severity significantly, as compared to untreated control. Lustre 37.5 SE(Flusilazole 12.5% + Carbendazim 25%) @ 960 ml/ha recorded significantly less and minimum disease intensity (31.30%) and recorded maximum grain yield (46.00 q/ha) which was 42.28% more over untreated control. Lustre 37.5 SE (Flusilazole 12.5% + Carbendazim 25%) did not show any type of phytotoxicity and was also found compatible with Urea, Chlorpyriphos and Imidacloprid. Lustre 37.5 SE (Flusilazole 12.5% + Carbendazim 25%) @ 960 ml/ha also controlled blast and brown spots, caused by Pyricularia oryzae and Helminthosporium oryzae, respectively. Lustre 37.5 SE (Flusilazole 12.5% + Carbendazim 25%) also gave a phytotonic effect to Rice crop.
