To boost the competitiveness of the European chemical industry, the European Commission invested in recent years jointly with their industrial partners about 100million? into R&D programs focusing on advanced manufacturing schemes. Process intensification, re-gpurce-efficient continuous chemistry, rnodularization and standardization were key elements of the activities.
