摘要

A new class of physically realizable gedanken experiments is presented. An example case is two identical charged objects tethered to the ends of a connecting rod, the tethered unit rotating about its center of mass where a separate charged object Q (at distance) moves relative to the center of mass of the tethered objects. If the charges and masses of the tethered objects are equal, the objects experience no predicted electrodynamic torque in the frame where Q is motionless, the latter having only an electrical field. However, the same rotating tethered objects experience a predicted nonzero electrodynamic torque in frames where Q is moving. The resulting strong frame dependence of predicted electrodynamic torque for the same experiment is a critical element of a resulting prediction conundrum with special relativity, which can be physically tested.
