Digital oilfields (DOF) have come of age, according to BP. Newer fields in particular are being targeted for DOF initiatives, and in some cases older fields by retrofit, explains Catherine Hyde, Technology Manager of the BP Digital Centre of Expertise, Houston. "There are still challenges to moving older fields to a digital world, as they were not designed or built with that infrastructure in mind,' she says.
