Last week's start-up of the Oryx gas-to-liquids (GTL) plant in Qatar was used by Qatari officials and international oil company executives alike as an opportunity to provide reassuring words about GTL's future in Qatar.With project engineering and construction costs higher,along with the fact that Oryx came on line six months late,concern has grown that Qatar may not shape up to be the GTL hot spot that was once promised.
