Optimism over prospects for a compre-hensive deal to lift US and EU sanctions on Iran’s nuclear programme is giving way to a more defiant tone from Tehran. Iran and representatives of the US, Russia,China,UK,France and Germany held a third round of talks on Tehran’s nuclear programme this week,as the two sides approach the halfway mark of the interim six-month deal reached in Novem-ber.Financial incentives agreed as a con-dition for the talks have so far delivered little tangible relief for Iran’s economy.
