Argentina entered a partial debt default on 30 July,increasing uncertainty that will escalate oil industry costs and hinder project financing.Unlike a tradi-tional default in which a country declines to pay its bills,Buenos Aires refused to pay bondholders that did not participate in previous restructurings of its debt,as ordered by a US court that has jurisdiction over the agreements, which stem from the country’s$100bn default in 2001.
