Brazil’s state-controlled oil firm Petrobras has cut planned capital expenditure (capex) by $11bn and reduced forecast operational expenses (opex) by $7bn for 2015-16. The cuts are a result of lower oil prices and a drop in the value of the Brazilian real (WPA, 11 September, p10).
