IMF urges reforms to kick-start Iran economy

Iran must carry out structural reforms to “make the most of the opportunity” provided by the deal that resulted in international nuclear sanctions being lifted in January, the IMF says. The administration of President Hassan Rohani has taken “important measures to secure macroeconomic stability”, but faces scaling back the influence of military and ideological institutions that, in some cases, fall outside state law.
