Shell aims to resolve Nigeria leases

Shell is "working hard" with the Nigerian government to end a dispute over lease extensions at some of its blocks that has deterred additional upstream investment since 2008. Shell has been in dispute with the Abuja authorities over blocks 71, 72, 74, 77 and 79, even as production has continued from the Sea Eagle floating production storage and offloading vessel at the 120,000 b/d EA offshore field in block 79.
