Carbon credits for pecans?

Last year the subject of pecan growers potentially receiving monetary credit for the amount of carbon their orchards hold was brought up by our association president in a Georgia Pecan Growers Association board meeting. I remember that the subject wasmet with a lot of snickering and joking. Whether or not the man-made global warming effect is real, carbon trading looks to be a real possibility in the not too distant future.
