KDPMA sees PM Modi's Make in India campaign to give booster shot to pharma, chemical manufacturing

UNION government's 'Make in India' campaign conceptualised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi includes pharmaceutical and chemicals in its 25 sector focus. This is seen to be a big booster shot to the drug manufacturing sector, stated Jatish N Seth, president, Kamataka Drugs and Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (KDPMA) and director, Srushti Pharmaceuticals. The 'Make India campaign' would enable attracting investment from global markets. The government has created a dedicated online cell to answers queries. The campaign focuses on zero defect and zero effect. While zero defect ensures products manufactured in India should not be rejected in the global market. Zero effect would be that the manufacturing should not have any negative impact on the environment.
