BASF is altering its organisational set-up in order to remain a major supplier to the paper industry. It will close its Paper Chemicals division HQ in Basel by the end of 2014, and 'Paper Chemicals' will be established as a sub-unit of the Performance Chemicals division. BASF and Smart Planet Technologies are planning to form a strategic partnership to develop the mineralized coating technology, EarthCoating, for paper packaging applications.
