It seems as if the last few weeks have been dominated by 'Hot Air'. For six days much of Western Europe was brought to a standstill from the vast cloud of Grey Ash that spewed out of Iceland's Eyjaf-jallajokull Volcano, grounding virtually all of Europe's internal air travel and much of the transatlantic traffic. It was the volcano's first major eruption since 1821, since when it has lain dormant and anonymous to most of the world. On 15th April it made headlines when it transformed swaths of Western Europe and Scandinavia into an unprecedented no-fly zone. Amongst all the stories surrounding this mayhem, one which received much press, was the sighting of the BBC's Top Gear Team (including the outspoken Jeremy Clarkson, who is something of a Global Warming Sceptic) in Iceland shortly before the eruption and the fact that he was NOT stranded by the ban on flights).
