SCA turns to renewables to reduce environmental footprint: To reduce its CO2 emissions by 20 per cent, SCA is to generate more energy from wind, waste and biofuels

To mimimise its environmental impact of its global tissue, packaging and papermaking operations, SCA has set a new environmental goal for 2020, that is to say reduction of its carbon dioxide emissions by 20 % in relation to production levels. 2005 is the reference year. To achieve the 20% reduction in CO2 emissions from fossil fuels and from purchased electricity, the Swedish company will increase its use of renewable energy and improve the energy efficiency of its paper-making and converting operations.
