Effect of the humidity profile on the electromagnetic signal reflected from a subsurface object

摘要

A theoretical investigation of the behavior of a signal reflected from ground depending on the humidity profile has been performed. It has been shown that it is difficult to correctly interpret the reflected signal because of the presence of moisture nonuniformly distributed in the ground bulk. There is a necessity to know not only the mean humidity of the ground, but also the spatial distribution function of the humidity.
