THE government is planning to revive some of the sick fertiliser units in the country, a move that could increase the production of fertilisers significantly. Taking first step in this direction, the Union Minister for Chemicals & Fertilizers, Ananth Kumar, on August 4, 2014 held a meeting with the Minister of Steel, Mines and Labour & Employment, Narendra Singh Tomar, and the Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas, Dr Dharmendra Pradhan, to discuss issues relating to revival of sick units of Fertiliser Corporation of India Ltd (FCIL) and also those of Hindustan Fertiliser Corporation Ltd (HFCL).
