The more I learn about Asia, the more I feel how much Japan has in common with other Asian nations in its way of thinking and fundamental sense of values. This may be partly attributable to the fact that most of my destinations are out-of-the-way spots where religious traditions are rooted mainly in the worship of a variety of spirits, something akin to Japan's indigenous religion of Shinto-ism, which originally derived from a form of animism.
