Picture the ideal seafood-shipping carton: Strong — It can carry a lot of weight and can have a lot of weight put on top of it. Tough — It is puncture-resistant. Insulating — It holds product at the desired temperature for days. Light — Because you pay for every pound of container you ship. Thin — Having space for product, not packing. Waterproof (at least water resistant) — Because you do not want leaks. Reusable — Rinse it out and fill it up again. Simple — Preferably one piece that pops open and can lock itself shut. Inexpensive — Container cost is overhead. It does not exist. Nothing inexpensive simultaneously combines strength, toughness, water-resistance, insulation, and simplicity.
