After catastrophe the F/V Icy Mist is rebuilt and rigged for everything

As Bob Gunderson's range of fisheries experience expanded over the years, his boat, the F/V Icy Mist, evolved to handle it all.The vessel has been altered and rebuilt since Gunderson bought the original version of it in 1996. Back then, the Icy Mist was 58 feet long - as it is today - and 22 feet wide, one of many limit seiner-style boats fishing out of Kodiak at the time.At first, Gunderson focused on trawling but then switched to pot fishing for cod. At the recommendation of relief skipper Dan Oliver, the Icy Mist ventured to Unimak Pass to maximize pot fishing, starting in early January.
