In 2009, The Freedonia Group, a company that provides market research for businesses, published a report forecasting that U.S. demand for wood-protection products would increase 2.2 percent through 2013. Interior-wood products were projected to make the largest gains, thanks to increases in housing starts and in home-improvement spending.
