Retail sales down but trade paints climb in January

Recent statistics from the British Coatings Federation (BCF) demonstrate a good performance in the trade paints sector, particularly in January, which showed an increase in volume of almost 10% over the same month last year, offsetting disappointing results in the retail sector, where litreage was again lower in the last month. Woodcare products also continued to improve in the trade market but again the retail sector remained difficult.
