Tradition and future of the firm POLAK, s. r.o. (Ltd.) - Prague, Mimon 90 years of experience in the field of die casting of aluminium

For 90 years already POLAK has been a traditional industrial plant engaged in aluminium die casting. Founding the company in 1919 of the last century in Prague-Holesovice, Mr, Josef Polak would never anticipate what the development of his company will be till now. Thanks to the Patent No. 1717254 claimed for a die casting machine with a vertical cold chamber granted to him in 1927, a way to general development of die casting process was opened in all industrial countries of the world. At the beginning of 1939 Mr. Polak left Prague and moved to England where he died the very same year. From that moment until 1992 the plant was a part of bigger companies. The specialization of the company was gradually changing, from manufacturing of machines that was moved to Slovakia in the fifties of the last century, to manufacturing of moulds and castings.
